Fueling Your Standby Generator
Since standby generators run on either propane or natural gas, they can be hooked directly
to your existing gas lines (usually Florida Public Utilities) or an underground propane tank
which can be installed. On average, a 250 gallon propane tank fueling a 15KW standby generator
would provide enough electricity to power a home for four days, while a 500 gallon underground
tank would provide nine days of power.
If a propane tank is required for your home, Pronto Electric can arrange for a licensed gas contractor to
supply and install the tank and the gas lines.
